Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sourcing, contract negotiations, and production planning. This role is crucial in ensuring that our organization maintains efficient operations while managing costs effectively. The Purchasing Manager will collaborate with various departments to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & negotiating with different Chinese and global manufacturers/suppliers and qualify at least 3 top MFGs for key products (ADI/API) to get the lowest price and good quality products with best payment terms.
  • Responsible for collecting daily quotes for sales requested based on assigned category items. Each product must have at least 3 top MFGs. Send the quotes to applicable MFGs and suppliers. Response and fulfill the quote request to our sales 12-24 hours.
  • Preparing purchasing contracts (PC) or purchasing orders (PO), rating the risk of POs, and getting approval from company CEO & CFO before sending to suppliers. POs must state the 《quality continue guarantee statement 》and 《SIDI》 as well as other necessary requirements. Follow up on all pending POs to make sure on-time delivery and update EDA and ETA weekly.
  • Develop & build the key vendors network and strategic partnership with true manufacturers based on company project needs.
  • Assist and help Procurement Manager/Director build the MFG/suppliers' global & local database system for the whole Purchasing Dept.
  • Research & study the product, market trend, and industry developing trend. Plan inventory for contract, spot buy, and new developing project.
  • Track and evaluate company performance monthly, collect market and industry information weekly, and optimize purchasing strategies dynamically.
  • Improve the safety stock system and update the system based on company performance and market trends.
  • Responsible to attend and see to HACCP affairs, enforce and encourage food safety, defense, and culture for the facility and department.
  • Cooperate with QU to meet daily sales document request and qualification of suppliers.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently, often working under the pressure of deadlines, and ability to work independently or collaboratively and delegate effectively.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively support team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity.
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Basic knowledge of modern office practices and use of Microsoft Office Suite for Word and Excel.
  • Ability to build relationships to strengthen partnerships with a focus on customer service.
  • Need to be well organized.
  • Able to handle tight deadlines.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Show a professional working attitude and be responsible for all of the company’s confidential information.
  • Fluent Mandarin and English is required.

Education Qualification and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in relevant field. Chemistry and material science are preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, customer interaction or in a relevant industry setting is required.
  • The successful candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to reach with arms and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools.
  • Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, and climb a ladder.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds with the possibility to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Work in an office environment but also at very close proximity to heavy machinery in the warehouse and powders from products
  • May be in contact with Allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean Shellfish. Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, and Soybeans).
  • Potential to move between office and warehouse areas to complete job functions.

Compliance with New York State Human Rights Pay Transparency Law, the annual base salary range for this position is $70K to 80K. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. MTC considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
