Job Summary: The Concessions/Special Events Lead will assist in managing, alongside the Special Events, Concessions and Retail Manager, the management of staff training and scheduling within the Food & Beverage department as well as Special Events staffing, when appropriate. This role is the day-to-day lead for Food & Beverage Attendants and Special Event Staff as it relates to guest experience and job duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets onboard sales goals with Special Events, Concessions and Retail Manager, implements product stock levels, and maintains inventory control/audit practices onboard
- Works regular shifts onboard to monitor and assist Food & Beverage staff in improving sales strategies, and customer service
- Communicates and reports directly to Special Events, Concessions and Retail Manager regarding all aspects of onboard operations
- Maintains company established standards for onboard performance in sales, customer service, safety, food handling and serving duties
- Manages daily task lists including cash handling, product stocking and cleaning
- Assists the Special Events, Concessions and Retail Manager with daily functions of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride and other special events including daily staff management and work assignments, filling in shifts for various departments as needed, ensuring timeliness of event runs, and troubleshoots issues as they arise
- Act as an assistant to the Special Events, Concessions and Retail Manager during event season by attending staffing meetings and event planning discussions
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:
- 1 years in a Food & Beverage industry experience required
- Experience in special event management preferred
- Experience in cash handling, customer service and public speaking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access & Outlook
Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime
- Able to stand and walk on uneven or unsteady surfaces aboard a moving train
- Ideal candidates are at least 21 years old due to the potential need to serve alcohol
