POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Representative sells the organization’s products and services for prospective and established customers. Whether on the phone, through email, or any other communication channels, the ISR handles customers’ requirements by determining what they need, answering questions, creating solutions and ensuring a smooth and quick sales process. The ISR is responsible for meeting established sales quotas, acquiring new customers, growing sales with current customers and increasing customer satisfaction. Must be knowledgeable of the organization’s policies, procedures, practices, products and services.
The Inside Sales Representative partners with region Territory Sales Managers to help drive territory coverage and maintain positive dealer, distributors and contractor relationships. Work as part of a team to make dealers, distributors and contractors aware of upcoming price changes, training, literature availability and ensuring they are happy with the products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
¯*Must be available to work 10:00a-7:00p CST / 8:00a-5:00p PST
- *Minimum of 2 days in office; either Kankakee, IL or Fernley, NV
¯Providing an accurate and timely response to customer inquiries through various channels of communication.
¯ Partnering with the Outside Sales team to provide a prompt solution to customer and deal with concerns and complaints.
¯ Communicates with and treats all departments, company personnel, and customers with courtesy, integrity, respect, and professionalism.
¯ Being the primary contact for a dedicated customer list and performing various inside sales activities such as calls, appointments, customer service etc.
¯ Recording sales activities, quotes and records of customer interactions in our ERP & CRM systems including won quotations in tracking system to improve closing ratios and provide vision to backlog and forecasts
¯ Soliciting new customers and partnering with Territory Sales Managers to improve contacts among key and target customers.
¯ Identify potential leads using various methods (cold calling, emailing, networking) to identify new business opportunities.
¯ Receive, price and return requests for quotations within defined criteria.
¯ Perform routine follow-up to determine success or failure, track competitive market information (backlog, pricing, competitor backlog, lead times), and stay informed on industry trends and conditions.
¯ Obtain necessary information from customer to enter an order and maintain the order through the life cycle including any necessary changes, issues, concerns and updates to the order, while communicating back to the customer and the plant both during and after the sales process as necessary
¯ Enter and/or review all orders entered, for 100% accuracy in relation to product type/qty, gross margin, lead times and freight.
¯ Procure any accurate material requirements, delivery schedule and forecast from customers and provide that information to purchasing and operations.
¯ Provide influence and control over customers’ expectations regarding our ability to meet specific demands.
¯ Sell distributed products as part of a bundle package along with our manufactured product.
¯ Obtain product lead times from necessary party and provide to customers
¯ Work with purchasing or yourself to obtain pricing from outside vendors.
¯ Have a firm understanding of logistical capabilities primarily LTL & flatbed loading, timing, and distribution capabilities.
¯ provide an accurate delivery schedule in advance to give operations enough time to secure materials and manufacture to meet the requested delivery date.
¯ Build a strong positive relationship with the customers and colleagues (within and outside of your own Team) by demonstrating value, initiative, position, influence, and supporting American Highway.
¯ Obtain a level of communication with the customer that allows access to all levels within their organization and provides a mutual respect for those involved.
¯ Obtain, understand, and relay all DOT specifications for those products we supply within your specified geographic region.
¯ Revise and provide product drawings and submittal information to customers as needed.
¯ Be familiar with all AASHTO and ASTM specifications regarding product, or where and how to find the information while also participating in continuous learning opportunities to stay updated on product knowledge, sales techniques and industry standards
¯ Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.
¯ Other duties as assigned

¯ Experience working in an Industrial Manufacturing or Distribution environment
¯ Strong technical aptitude
¯ Ability to effectively provide direct customer service
¯ Superior interpersonal communication skills
¯ Must have exceptional attention to detail
¯ Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize
¯ Must be a self-starter and driven
¯ Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
¯ Good computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite products
¯ Record of good attendance and punctuality
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
¯ Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

¯ Maximum unassisted lift – 50 lbs. Average lift less than 25 lbs.
¯ Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator.

Compensation
- $55,000-65,000 annually
