• Treasury Management

  • Leads a team entrusted with managing the company’s outgoing payments to vendors and incoming payments from customers.
  • Oversees accurate financial recording, timely processing of invoices and maintenance of healthy cash flow.
  • Serves as a liaison to accounting vendors, including banks.

  Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Assists in the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and insurance-specific accounting regulations (e.g., statutory accounting principles).
  • Provide financial insights and variance analyses to support decision-making.

  Team Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee the daily operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment aligned with company values.

  Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all state insurance regulatory requirements, including financial filings.
  • Coordinate with auditors for statutory and external audits.
  • Maintain and enforce strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks.

  Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement scalable solutions.
  • Lead the adoption and integration of accounting technology and systems upgrades.

  Special Projects:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams on financial initiatives and strategic projects.
  Provide financial expertise in support of product development, claims management, and risk assessment.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field from a four-year institution.  

Experience: 4 to 7 years in an accounting role, preferably within the insurance industry.  The ideal candidate with have a proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role.  Experience with statutory accounting is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:         

• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• General Ledger or Accounts Payable systems 
• Proper oral communication; speaks clearly, listens respectfully. 
• Exceptional organization skills and high attention to detail. 
• Ability to problem solve and work independently.
