Job Summary:
The Import Analyst plays a vital role in the supply chain functions of American International Foods. This role is a strategic purchaser in our global imports department. The role will source new ingredients, build relationships with manufacturers globally, negotiate pricing and purchase ingredients for our food manufacturing customer base. This role will assist with the logistics and customs activities associated with importing food ingredients into the US.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage inventory of over 100 ingredients across multiple product categories, industries, and end-user applications.
2. Identify new suppliers, build relationships, and create competitive advantages through our supply chain.
3. Send quote requests, place purchase orders, and track material from order placement to final delivery.
4. Obtain and review supplier quality documentation to ensure product meets US food safety standards.
5. Conduct new ingredient product searches for sales and leadership.
6. Develop supplier relationships in new product categories and marketing competitive advantages uncovered.
7. Collaborate with Sales Representatives, Customer Service, Vendors, Accounting and Logistics teams.
8. Responsible for analyzing inventory and utilizing Material Resource Planning fundamentals.
9. Research and communicate new food safety regulation that may impact the business.
10. Prepare purchase orders, solicit bids, and review contracts.
11. Track Containers from port of lading to port of entry.
12. Scheduling drayage and coordinating with Customer Service and warehousing teams.
13. Coordinate with US customs broker and provide required documents for FDA clearance.
14. Tracking and reporting all costs associated with importing food ingredients.
15. Effectively and professionally communicate with carriers, vendors, customs brokers, sales representatives, customer service, and domestic purchasing.
16. Calculate and analyze fully landed costs of ingredient purchases.
17. Administering and developing weekly market trend reports.
18. Other duties as required by the business.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bi-Lingual : English (Indian Dialect(s), Portuguese, or Mandarin) - HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Bachelor's Degree - Supply Chain, Business Administration, International Business or other similar (or equivalent experience)
Job Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, within the food industry is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and previous experience in Microsoft Office Suite, (Excel, Outlook, Access), QuickBooks, Adobe, and Website Search Engines. Experience in ERP, CRM, UPS/FedEx Shipping and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills are required. Must be detail oriented.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
