Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the timely movement of metal scraps to meet contractual commitments and customer needs. The successful candidate will be punctual, reliable, motivated, possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate a high attention to detail, have the ability to meet deadlines under pressure and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Coordinating the export logistic process that includes shipping from USA to various international locations. (i.e., Korea, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, India, Pakistan and Brazil)
- Preparing, processing, and produce all export documentation that meet all compliance requirements. (i.e., Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Quality Compliance Certificate)
- Preparing, processing, and producing Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate, Form-6/Form-9, Bills of Lading etc. arranging and providing loading photos to consignees
- Accurately coordinating daily activity between the origination locations and the freight companies, to ensure the goods are shipped in the most timely and efficient manner.
- Preparing and executing on freight negotiations with forwarders / Coordinate Request for quote and rate requests
- Providing exceptional customer service focus and support to clientele.
- Maintaining accurate transaction records.
- Identify/managing risks and opportunities during the logistics process in order to ensure optimum results.
- Assisting with light dispatching duties
- Answering questions regarding sourcing from internal and external customers as needed.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Incoterms and financial procedures in International Trading; i.e., letters of credits, banks transfers, documentary trade presentation and payment terms.
- Filing and other administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Background in supply chain management / logistics. Must have experience working with third party logistics.
- Must have hands on logistics experience, recycling and metal industry preferred.
