American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Cosmetology Program Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic school year at our Applied Technologies campus. Candidates must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement an engaging curriculum that covers theoretical knowledge and practical skills in related fields.
- Deliver lectures and practical demonstrations on various techniques, including hair extensions, makeup application, and eyelash extensions.
- Evaluate student performance through practical assessments, quizzes, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a passion for the beauty industry.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, techniques, and products in cosmetology, integrating this knowledge into the curriculum.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop their skills and prepare for state licensure exams and future careers.
- Ensure adherence to state regulations and accreditation standards regarding training, sanitation, and safety practices.
- Work with faculty and administration to enhance the cosmetology program and contribute to the overall success of the institution.
- Prepare classroom for instruction by ordering and maintaining stock of supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in cosmetology techniques, including makeup application, eyelash extensions, and hair extensions.
- Ability to effectively design and deliver engaging lessons and demonstrations, catering to diverse learning styles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear instruction, feedback, and interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive and motivating classroom environment.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage classroom activities, maintain accurate records, and develop lesson plans.
- Flexibility to adjust teaching methods and curriculum based on student needs and industry trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Education experience
- Experience in eyelash extensions, makeup artistry and hair extensions.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid certification in related field
- Adult education or curriculum development in related fields is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in the industry, with a focus on advanced techniques.
- Additional certifications in related fields.
- Experience implementing curriculum.
