Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintaining a clean and organized stock room.
- Stocking store with merchandise as directed by Store Manager.
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift.
- Load customers using forklift or by hand.
- Must be Flexible in hours worked.
- Carrying, loading, and unloading big and bulky items by hand.
- Assist customers with building material questions and check customers out.
- Additional duties as needed by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prior material handling experience loading and unloading trucks with forklift and by hand.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and of the employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Able to calculate linear feet and square feet needed to get customers the correct amount of product to complete their job.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Forklift
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Prior material handling experience required and prior building material experience strongly preferred. Ability to receive and carry out verbal and written instructions; ability to communicate with employees, managers and professionals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; physical stamina to remain on feet and assist customers handling building materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-80 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
