Humanities, Arts, and Sciences (SHAS) to provide vision for the liberal arts
and sciences in the 21st century, and lead an outstanding faculty deeply
committed to the mission of the institution and to the success of our
diverse student body. SHAS houses a wide array of academic programs
at the graduate, baccalaureate, and associate levels, along with the Core
Curriculum for undergraduate students. The dean functions as the chief
leader and strategic planner for SHAS, with primary responsibility for
all academic programs in arts and sciences.
To foster the success of our
academic programs and our students, the dean will ensure the quality of
our programs, strengthen and expand external relationships, mentor and
support faculty and staff, ensure an outstanding student experience, and
effectively manage the overall budget of the School of Humanities, Arts,
and Sciences to achieve the best outcomes for our students.
