American National is seeking a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team within a leading insurance company. The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering and analyzing financial data, identifying trends, supporting process improvements, and collaborating closely with our actuarial and investment analytics teams. This role involves managing data in SAP BPC (EPM software), assisting with income statement and balance sheet projections, reviewing GAAP and statutory financial projections, and developing financial models to support strategic decision-making.

What Will You Do
- Collect and organize financial data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Assist with forecasting and planning activities, contributing to accurate and timely financial projections.
- Maintain and develop forecasting and planning timelines to ensure smooth workflow and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Prepare income statement and balance sheet projections to support company planning and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with actuarial and investment analytic teams to improve insights and drive value through cross-functional partnerships.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes within the FP&A function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review and analyze GAAP and statutory financial projections, supporting compliance and reporting requirements.
- Manage and maintain financial data in SAP BPC (EPM Software), ensuring data integrity and accessibility for stakeholders. This includes loading data, data cleaning within system and creating/maintaining upload templates and reports
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data to inform business strategies and actions.
- Develop and refine financial models to project future financial performance and support scenario analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry
- Proficiency with financial modeling and data analysis, including strong Excel skills
- Experience working with SAP BPC or similar financial planning software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with various teams, especially actuarial and investment professionals
- Process improvement mindset and experience with identifying and implementing efficiencies within financial processes
