American Natural Processors (ANP) is a specialty food and feed ingredient manufacturer with locations in Sioux City, Cherokee, Galva and Hartley Iowa. ANP’s focus is on the Organic and Non-GMO niche food and feed markets. We have developed creative processes to manufacture products with unique proprietary natural methods. ANP has recently opened a new state of the art protein powder manufacturing facility on Floyd boulevard in Sioux City. JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Responsible for implementing and maintaining company Quality Assurance (QA) and Food Safety Programs. Position will ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for FDA, QA, manufacturing, HACCP, SQF, customer requirements, and other quality, food safety, and sanitation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal activities related to food safety, product quality, microbiological performance criteria, finished products, SQF and HACCP systems, government regulatory compliance, inspection criteria, and customer complaint investigation and response.
  • Provide technical support for the plant.
  • Ensures that all company standards and government regulations are met.
  • Perform monthly audits of manufacturing and warehouse locations at facility, along with allergen and HACCP.
  • Assist with development, implementation, and administration of new and existing QA policies.
  • SQF Practitioner – manage SQF system and understand SQF Code and requirements to maintain system.
  • Maintain all Food Safety & Quality Certifications
  • Lead 3rd party audits (GFSI, SQF, etc.) as well as regulatory agencies, and customer audits
  • Assist in conducting ongoing team member training on Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and food safety related issues.
  • Lead QA Team Meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with product specifications, labeling, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and maintain Allergen Control, Environmental Monitoring, and Sanitation Programs.
  • Support and assist in Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Supervise and assist in technical operations such as taking samples, examining/analyzing products, recording results, and taking appropriate action in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide technical support to daily operations and management to develop effective solutions when processing problems occur.
  • Certify integrity of Finished Products

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical or Ag Engineering or related fields (Associate degrees in a science field are welcome to apply)
  • Relevant experience preferably in a food manufacturing environment or an FDA regulated industry.
  • HACCP and/or SQF certification preferred. If certifications are not attained prior to accepting the position, a successful candidate must acquire both certifications within the first year of employment.
  • Experience with Low Moisture Foods considered a plus
