American Oncology Network is looking for a Treasury Accountant. This position is HYBRID and will require 2 days onsite at our office on Global Parkway in Fort Myers, FL.
Position Summary :
The primary objective of the Staff Accountant-Treasury is to perform cash receipt, cash disbursement, and cash accounting activities. The role is focused on accurately reporting all banking activities for the company; including, but not limited to, recording all transactions in the General Ledger; maintaining and updating activity in several financial systems, clearing checks and reconciling accounts (e.g. cash position and electronic payments) as assigned.
Key Performance Areas :
KPA 1 - Process, prepare and run reports .
Examples of job duties :
Run and Print daily OTM reports and distribute to Posting.
Distribute prior daily balances to upper management.
Maintain and manage financial spreadsheets.
Prepare and distribute "Outstanding Checks" report for checks over 90 days to A / P and Refund Coordinators.
KPA 2 - Analyze Checks, TeleChecks and Credit Card Transactions.
Examples of job duties :
Reconcile, allocate, and post monthly Credit Card fees.
Reconcile, allocate, and post monthly TeleCheck fees.
Reconcile, allocate, and post daily / monthly miscellaneous fees.
Clear checks daily in SAGE100.
Reconcile Purchasing Card statement for vendors / clear PC check in SAGE.
Reconcile cash receipts daily.
Research and resolve unexpected banking activity prior to month end.
KPA 3 - Accurate & timely creation of Journal entries to record all banking transactions
Examples of job duties :
Prepare journal entries to record :
NSF checks
loan activity
account transfers
bank fees
leases
Drug rebates received
all other daily / monthly bank activity.
KPA 4 - Miscellaneous Treasury functions.
Examples of job duties :
Verify validity of cash transactions.
Investigate suspect activity and propose resolution for any discrepancies.
Initiate stop payments within the bank.
Research & respond to check payment status.
Review Positive Pay Exception Report; research items and approve or reject checks for payment.
KPA 5 - Customer Service responsibilities
Examples of job duties :
Assist with training new employees.
Assist manager as needed.
Assist other Company personnel.
Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times.
Maintain company records in a safe and confidential manner.
Position Qualifications / Requirements :
Education : Four-year degree in Accounting and knowledge of GAAP required.
Previous Experience :
Minimum five-year experience with a computerized Accounting and General Ledger system. Prior Treasury experience preferred.
Core Capabilities :
Experience with SAGE accounting software, primarily journal entries and clearing of check is a plus. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel. Good communication skills for interacting with both staff and management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
