Job Summary:
American Overhead Door and Dock is a distributor and installer of commercial overhead doors, loading dock equipment and facility safety equipment and we are seeking a skilled Financial Controller/Director of Reporting to join our team. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting. We are currently using QuickBooks for our accounting and in the process of moving to Oracle/Netsuite, so experience with both platforms is ideal.
Duties:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
- Develop and monitor business performance metrics
- Prepare financial statements and reports for senior management
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
- Implement financial policies and procedures to maintain internal controls
- Provide financial guidance to department heads to assist in budgeting and cost control
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
