Duties/Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with a variety of internal clients and team members to provide creative direction and production that reflects inspired thinking while adhering to internal processes and timelines.
- Ability to distinguish and manage quick-turn projects that require less design to larger projects with longer lead times and require more polished design.
- Seamlessly picks up projects halfway through the creative process by maintaining a consistent voice/tone as well as able to appropriately hand projects off to peer creative staff when necessary.
- Creates print and web-accessible infographics and charts to aid in making data understandable.
- Designs and manages print and digital projects that include visual concepts, typography, logos, and publication designs.
- Develops graphics for use in presentations, reports, emails, videos, and on websites.
- Maintains necessary project workflow and communication systems.
- Drives design projects from concept to final production while managing deadlines.
- Coordinates with employees performing similar duties providing quality control and feedback as needed.
- Maintains professionalism through all interactions with internal clients and project leads, as well as effective coordination with external partners and vendors as needed.
Key Relationships
- Works closely with executive leadership, managers, and internal team members to achieve marketing and communications objectives.
- Provides creative and technical guidance to design associates and other team members related to design, layout, cross-platform functionality and branding.
- Shares information and develops consensus with other API departments on projects.
- Manages tasks and collaborates with design associates and external vendors as needed.
- Directs and works with internal and external printing, design, mailing, and web production professionals to produce marketing and communications materials.
Qualifications
- Requires 5-7 years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience.
- Experience in print and digital media production required.
- Fluency in current graphic design practices and technologies such as Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Strong Understanding of UX design, print, and digital production process and implications.
- Ability to create superior and original designs for various types and channels including print, web, infographic, and interactive design.
- Ability to create superior, original designs for PowerPoint.
- Ability to convert data from spreadsheets into visually compelling designs.
- Supports multiple projects and partners with diverse internal teams to work on both quick-turn-around and longer-term projects.
- Strong attention to detail and quality. Keen on due diligence and quality checks on creative work.
- Experience in corporate branding, layout, color theory, and typography in both print and digital media.
- Digital video editing experience is a bonus.
- Photography experience is a bonus.
- Animation/3D modeling experience is a bonus.
Physical Requirements
- Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
- Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc. on occasion
- Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
- Transport items and equipment up to 10 lbs. on occasion
Travel Requirements
- Up to 25%
