WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, you will:
- Manage accounts payable process from start to finish including setting up new vendors, maintenance of vendor information, processing payment and 1099’s.
- Responsible for automated accounts payable platform (PN3 Solutions)
- Process American Express activity. Ensure all supporting documentation is received from staff prior to submission for payment.
- Prepare DC Sales & Use Tax Filing/Payment
- Verify accounts payable aging (sub-ledger) equals general ledger balance
- Reconcile travel advance account and follow-up with staff on outstanding items
- Reconcile pre-paid expense accounts and process expenses in the appropriate month
- Reconcile accrued expense accounts and monitor to ensure there are no duplication of expenses
- Support in month-end close
- Support in year-end audit and tax preparation
- Support in budgeting

Experience and Education required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of senior level accounts payable experience.
Skills, knowledge and abilities required:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP
- Proficiency with Sage Intacct
- Proficiency with PN3 Solutions
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks from multiple staff effectively
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Ability to professionally interact with staff, volunteers, members and vendors

LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)
