What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Layer/Laborer position at American Pro Staffing?
We are looking for an experienced pipe layer to join our construction crew.
As a pipe layer, you will be responsible for assessing the ground conditions, digging trenches, assembling pipes, and laying pipes following city ordinates. You may also be required to remove old piping systems, seal joins, and install auxiliary lines.
Job Responsibilities
- Pipe Layer for utility pipe crews.
- Work with a team
- Understand and incorporate safe work practices when instructed.
- Pipe utilities include but are not limited to storm, sanitary sewer, water, gas, electric, underground utilities, and clearing.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff members when necessary.
- Perform duties responsibly and proficiently, following all company safety guidelines.
Skills and Specifications
- Knowledge of basic maintenance care of tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to safely enter and exit equipment, follow safety protocols, occasionally lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds. Walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under field conditions.
- Working effectively in a team environment. Will take instruction from supervisors.
- Basic reading skills desired
- Blueprint reading skills desired but can be taught depending on position.
- Knowledge of basic math needed.
- Have a current driver license and the ability to get to the jobsite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
