What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Pipe Layer position at American Pro Staffing?
The Pipe Layer is responsible for safely installing water, sanitary and stormwater sewer structures, and pipe systems.
Pay ranges anywhere from $25.00-$41.00 based on level of experience dealing with pipefitting for new construction water/drainage/sewer lines.
Ditch Guys (Cutting Grade): $28.00-$31.00
Pipe Laborers: $25.00-$26.00
Superintendent: $38.00-$41.00
Job Responsibilities
- Determine grade of trenching using tools including lasers and transit levels.
- Grade and level trench bases to place pipe in.
- Lay, align, and position sections of pipe.
- Make connections to lines including sewer lines, water lines, and storm sewers.
- Check slopes for confirmation of requirements.
- Cut, fit, and seal various types of piping.
Education and Experience
- Experience in operating cutting equipment to cut various types of piping materials.
- Experience using laser levels preferred.
- 10-hour OSHA and Confined Space training preferred.
Skills and Specifications
- Ability to think logically about work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working in a team environment.
