American Psychiatric Group is looking to hire a Substance Use Counselor part-time.
American Psychiatric Group is a mental health and substance use disorder treatment program, providing OP and IOP treatment in Baltimore Maryland. We are looking for a dynamic, caring, recovery-focused individual who can bring their clinical skills to the clients of our programs.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate substance use individual and group counseling sessions and psychoeducational classes
- Compose individualized notes for each client and document in ICANOTES
- Complete all required documentation within COMAR and CARF standards and time frames
Skills and Knowledge
- Must be able to accurately document client’s participation
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must have knowledge and ability to use counseling techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding and motivate the client
- Ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with clients and staff
Experience
- Must have group facilitation experience
- Must have prior work experience in the substance use disorder treatment field
Requirements
- Must be a certified SUD counselor
