Clinical Director Job Description:
We are searching for a full-time skilled and professional Substance Abuse Counselor Program Coordinator/Supervisor to manage our organization's clinical department. Your duties will include supervising all day-to-day clinical and administrative tasks including maintaining patient care plans, reviewing supervisee clinical notes, and assigning cases and employee schedules, providing supervision.
To succeed in this role, you should have excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will also be an exceptional communicator, with a strong understanding of budgeting and performance evaluation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Dedicating approximately 50% of work time to the direct provision of clinical services to agency clients by carrying a caseload.
- Ensuring services provided correspond to Maryland mental health program model guidelines and ensure compliance with BHA, COMAR, and CARF policies and procedures
- Hire employees to ensure the department is staffed with qualified personnel.
- Train staff within the EMR system regarding required documentation.
- Assign and develop groups for the agency
- Develop and maintain the department budget.
- Assess employee performance and if necessary, discipline employees in a constructive manner.
- Oversee the department’s compliance with legal guidelines, policies and quality standards.
- Ensure all medical records and other care-related documentation are up to date.
- Plan, coordinate and oversee the delivery of patient care services.
- Develop schedules for all employees.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and budgets required by regulatory agencies and BHA
- Working collaboratively with team members to ensure the care coordination of clients
- Facilitate Group Supervision/Team Meetings Weekly
- Available to work flexible work schedule including evenings
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in clinical administration, licensed as an LCADC or LCSW-C or LCPC with Supervisory status to oversee SUD Counselors.
- A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a managerial position.
- Post-grad experience working with client suffering from addiction and mental health
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Aptitude for resolving administrative issues and conflicts.
- In-depth knowledge of policies and regulations in the clinical field.
- Must have Maryland state licensure by the board of Professional Counselor or Social Worker
- Candidates with a supervisory endorsement will receive high priority
- Valid malpractice insurance
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience working with a diverse population and knowledge of COMAR regulations and program development required
- Must be available 24/7 for telephone support of staff for occasional emergencies
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills needed
