Summary: The Production Planning Associate is responsible for supporting production planning activities, coordinating schedules, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and resources to meet production targets within a manufacturing environment.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. Relevant coursework in production planning is beneficial.
Entry-level position or 1-2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and production planning software. Knowledge of planning methodologies like MRP (Material Requirements Planning) is advantageous.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules, considering factors such as resource availability, capacity, and demand forecasts.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and supplies needed for production.
- Monitor and manage orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing to meet production requirements and customer delivery schedules.
- Assist in analyzing production capacities, identifying constraints, and making recommendations to optimize production efficiency.
- Analyze production data, performance metrics, and inventory levels to identify trends, forecast needs, and suggest improvements in production planning.
- Liaise with production teams, logistics, and other departments to communicate production plans, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and production-related data. Prepare reports and analyses for management review.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to production planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures in production planning activities.
- Provide support to production managers and supervisors as needed, assisting in resolving operational issues and ensuring smooth workflow.
