What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, SEI Events and Engagement position at American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)?
The Structural Engineering Institute of American Society of Civil Engineers (SEI/ASCE) - representing more than 30,000 structural engineers globally - is currently seeking an experienced manager for SEI events and engagement responsible for leadership, management, and operational support for SEI Events - both in person and virtual - as needed to support SEI committees, activities, and contract obligations. Responsible for logistical support for member Engagement specifically through SEI events and activities - and including the development and execution of a new, robust continuing education content development program. SEI is a high-performing organization of active and passionate staff and volunteers. We are looking for a new teammate to join us in this new role to lead the events and engagement activities with enthusiasm, organizational expertise, and bring new ideas for success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage SEI Events and Engagement timelines, operations, and logistics in partnership with ASCE/SEI Staff and/or member program development
- Develop and execute a new, robust continuing education content development program
- Financial management of the events, including developing and monitoring budgets, monitoring vendors and other expenses, and accounts payable
- Develop communications and marketing plans for executions within SEI and ASCE to leverage and promote events
- In charge of logistical support for both in person and virtual events and engagement activities
- Interact with committee members and staff that develop technical and other program elements
Ideal Candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Asana Project Management
- Understanding of the principles of marketing and communications
- Three to five years of similar work experience
- Association or volunteer management experience
- A desire to travel occasionally to conferences and meetings
