What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Finishing Operator - 2nd Shift position at AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe Company, LLC?
The Fabrication Finishing Operator include the following: (Other duties may be assigned, including but not limited to cross training and housekeeping. Responsibilities also include attention to safety according to all safety rules.)
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED, or six months to one year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with supervisors and other employees.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Must be able to operate computer-controlled painting and taping equipment, including reading and interpreting console indicators and gauges, and ability to operate hand blasting, taping and painting tools.

Preferred Qualifications
- Reviews dispatch lists and other work instructions to determine correct processes for current job.
- Consults with lead person or team leader for specific directions and job priorities.
- Performs required operations for completing pipe fabrication, by manually priming, taping, repairing, cementing and painting as needed.
- Locates and installs rubber dams for fab finishing operations.
- Use blaster as needed.
- Clean work area and prepare area for next jobs.
- Assist with cement and curing operations as required (see cement/curing operator job description).
- Performs other tasks as instructed by management.
