CNC Machinist
Monday-Thursday 5am-4pm
Pay Range : $19-$24.00 hourly
JOB SUMMARY :
To operate, set up, load material, program and perform edits on programs of CNC mills and lathes as needed to produce parts and other items as needed and to be able to accurately perform dimensional and visual inspection of parts and other items produced in that work for accuracy, quality and finish.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Reads and interprets blueprints to accurately produce parts in the operation of all types of machine shop machine tools.
2. Able to perform math functions as required in the calculation of information in the inspection of parts and materials.
3. Able to perform math function as needed to edit programs in the CNC process.
4. Uses full range of precision measuring and gaging tools to perform inspection before start of job.
5. Performs repair, rebuilding or overhaul work of manufacturing or service equipment from blueprints, company manufacturing manuals, written or verbal instructions.
6. Starts up and shuts down equipment in line with company safety procedures for equipment under power and OSHA requirements.
7. Plans setup and operates typical machine shop machine tools, producing parts to tolerances and company specifications. Uses typical machinist's hand tools.
8. Sets up machines for production including jigs, and tests production equipment under power, testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their sources and correcting problem.
9. Will operate two or more machines simultaneously when supervision deems practical.
10. Must have experience with multi-spindle lathe and live tooling.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Performs minor machine maintenance and cleaning as required.
2. Cleans up sweepings of machine tool operation scrap and places in scrap bin.
3. Will use a forklift to retrieve material from warehouse and / or to move pallets of parts to other machines or to inspection staging.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be capable to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics as required to produce part(s).
Must be capable of math equations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, division and multiplication as well as understanding basic geometry functions.
Completion of formal apprenticeship program or completion of in-company training program to satisfaction of plant training procedures.
Works with power driven equipment; overhaul and repair work may involve assignments in overhead structures or work beneath machinery. Frequent stooping and bending required.
Works with costly metals where possibility of damage or spoilage is high.
Close attention and care is required to prevent damage to complex machine tools. High mental and visual
