What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant II position at American Statistical Association?
Responsibilities
Accounting :
Assist with the organization's daily financial operations, including accounts receivable and recording transactions relating to cash.
Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and filings related to nonprofit financial management.
Complete monthly investment reconciliations
Support the Member Services team to ensure the MemberSuite financial transactions are accurate.
Awards :
Oversee the distribution and tracking of funds for scholarships, grants, and awards.
Ensure accurate financial reporting for all award-related activities.
Assist in the budgeting process for awards and scholarships, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately.
Section Finances :
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets for the ASA sections.
Assist in the monitoring of sponsorship agreements and tracking and related invoicing for section sponsored conferences and approved activities.
Assist in the preparation for annual audits and ensure that all financial records are maintained in accordance with nonprofit standards.
Development :
Work closely with the Director of Development to track donations, manage donor records, and help prepare financial reports for fundraising activities.
Maintain records of grant proposals and awarded funds, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Assist in the financial aspects of donor stewardship, including tracking and acknowledging contributions.

Education (required) :

Work Experience (required) :
1 - 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations
