Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented dispatcher with excellent communication skills who can answer and respond to any emergency or non emergency calls to provide assistance or important information. Applicant must possess exceptional clerical and organizational skills as well as have knowledge of computers. The ability to Multi-task with different and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time is a must. Working under stressful situations while remaining calm and calming others during rapidly changing circumstances while relaying information in a fast past environment is essential.
Responsibilities
- Receiving & Dispatching Calls - Handle a variety of calls from routine to emergency, quickly assess situations and dispatch appropriate resources.
- Communication - Receiving and relaying information correctly to field personnel and internal coworkers via phone, email, message taking or other communication systems in place.
- Coordination - Coordinate the deployment of appropriate resources to respond to customer orders, service requests or emergencies.
- Routine & Tracking - Effectively use mapping software to determine optimal routes and track the locations of mobile units ensuring efficient and timely service delivery.
- Information Management - Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing service requests and emergency incidents ensuring accurate documentation and follow up.
- Problem Solving - Dispatchers often need to make quick decisions and adapt to changing situations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations.
- Customer Service- Interact with customers or clients to address inquiries, resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Safety- Ensure the safety of field personnel by monitoring situations, relaying critical information and coordinating responses.
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred, particularly in towing or trucking environment.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in using phone systems and demonstrating strong phone etiquette is essential.
- Experience with dispatching will be beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills to assess customer needs and provide appropriate solutions are required.
- Current TDLR license and experience with a VSF is preferred however not required.
