Dispatcher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient towing and roadside operations. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to analyze data, and proficiency in various dispatching tools. As a Dispatcher, you will coordinate the movement vehicles, manage schedules, and ensure timely arrivals while maintaining high standards of service.

Responsibilities

• Utilize transportation management systems to schedule and dispatch vehicles efficiently.
• Monitor and track drivers using GPS to ensure timely arrivals.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and motor clubs via phone and email.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including schedules and delivery confirmations.
• Assist in transportation planning to meet customer needs while adhering to company and government policies.
• Document payments in the transportation management systems, and run regular reports to ensure we are receiving payment on completed jobs.
• Assist impound customers at the window with both property and vehicle retrieval.
• Retrieve impounded vehicles from the yard to deliver to customers in our parking lot. You must be comfortable doing this with a variety of vehicles.

Schedule

This is a 24/7/365 operation that requires a hybrid schedule.

• You will be in office 4 days a week, from 8am to 5pm, with one weekday off. You will also have every other weekend off.
• You and our current dispatcher will take turns having phones between 5pm and 8am from home every other night. Volume is low in the evening and overnight, but we must still respond and dispatch local police calls.
• You and our current dispatcher will take turns having phones Saturday and Sunday every other week, while working from home. Trips to the yard will occasionally be required to release vehicles while on-duty.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching or customer service preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations quickly.
• Proficient in using phone systems and transportation management software.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of towing procedures is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
