As a Sales/Project Manager for a tree service, your job description includes the following key responsibilities and skills:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sales & Client Relations:
- Generate leads and pursue potential clients, both residential and commercial.
- Conduct consultations with potential clients to assess their tree service needs.
- Prepare and present estimates and quotes for tree removal, pruning, and maintenance services.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
- Project Management:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee tree service projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with tree service crews and subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and quality work.
- Monitor progress and address any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing questions, concerns, and updates throughout the project.
- Manage any disputes or adjustments to ensure positive outcomes for both the company and the client.
- Operations Oversight:
- Oversee equipment, manpower, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency.
- Monitor budgets and project costs to stay within financial targets.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sales, contracts, client interactions, and project details.
- Provide regular reports to upper management on sales performance and project outcomes.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales and project management, preferably within the tree service or landscaping industry.
- Knowledge of tree species, tree care, arboricultural practices, and safe work methods.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
- Valid driver's license and potentially relevant certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist).
This role requires a balance between sales proficiency and hands-on project management, ensuring both customer satisfaction and operational success.
