Capitol Broadcasting is looking for a full‐time Accounting Senior for their Real Estate division. The individual must be a team‐oriented, self‐starter who can handle multiple accounting functions including full charge GL accounting, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, accounting system administration and other month end closing tasks. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, very organized and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required with a minimum of 4-5 years of work experience. Previous experience with Oracle, Yardi, Excel and handling accounting transactions for multiple divisions is preferable.

Basic Duties
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- - Oversee the full accounts payable and accounts receivable function, ensuring division adherence to processes, accurate invoice coding, timely vendor payment and timely customer payment applications
- - Manage and develop AR/AP team providing guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate posting of receipts and vendor payment
- - Develops, implements, maintains and communicates policies and procedures ensuring efficient and effective workflow; evolves processes as needed utilizing a continuous improvement mindset
- - Reviews A/R Aging reports to monitor tenant A/R details for non-payments, delayed payments or other irregularities and collaborates with property management teams regarding collection issues
- - Analyze bad debt and allowance for doubtful account accruals
- - Ensure accurate processing of 1099s annually
- - Serve as a resource when AP coding questions arise from the property management team
- - Oversee employee expense reimbursement reporting and enforce policy adherence
- - Responsible for administration of the accounting environment/systems and upholding strong internal controls
- - Develop and maintain central login information and process documentation for all ancillary systems, including existing and future systems (i.e. Yardi, Click Pay, Stripe, Office R&D, ResNexus, Park Hub, Park Mobile, Zephire, Dependabill, utility websites, property tax websites, sales/use/occupancy tax, etc.)
- - Train and assist division employees on accounting software systems
- - Manage user subscriptions, roles and responsibilities and data access
- - Lead implementation of new system modules/upgrades and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new processes and technologies
- - Manage outside technical resources to improve use of applications and resolutions of problems
- - Set up new general ledger accounts, lease units, and bank accounts in Yardi
- - Map new Yardi Properties and general ledger accounts to Oracle entities and accounts
- - Assist with general ledger and transactional accounting for various commercial, residential and other entities as assigned
- - Assist with the monthly close process including standard monthly journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions; act as cross train/back up for property accountants
- - Maintains documentation of SOPs, policies and procedures related to property accounting
- - Prepare and review account analysis to ensure that transactions are properly recorded
- - Review bank reconciliations as needed
- - Assist with the annual budget process
- - Assist with audit schedules as required
- - Work on Special projects with Controller as needed and other duties as assigned
- - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business from a four‐year college or university
- - Minimum 4-5 years accounting experience
- - Real Estate Experience a plus
- - Experience with accounting for multiple entities or locations a plus
- - High level of proficiency with Excel required
- - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- - Detail oriented and organized with an ability to manage multiple priorities & deadlines
- - Should be proactive, positive and results oriented
- - Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external parties
- - Yardi and broad accounting system experience
