Summary:
The Graduate Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator role serves as a graduate recruiter and admissions specialist for strategic affiliations and constituencies for the School of Public Affairs (SPA). This position supports the graduate enrollment planning, implementation, execution, and, at times, student support services related to designated programs, initiatives, and activities. This position’s programmatic responsibilities include but are not limited to SPA Combined Programs (BA/MA and BA/MS), Double Eagle, Key Executive MPA and graduate certificate students, as well as Coverdell Fellows. This position also serves as an essential recruitment liaison and admissions coordinator for the School’s Ph.D., and Washington Semester Programs. The Graduate Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is an integral member of the Office of Graduate Admissions (OGA) that leads the recruitment, admissions, and yield strategy for SPA’s range of on-campus master’s degrees and graduate certificates.
Essential Functions:
1.) Graduate Recruitment
Cultivate and nurture pipelines of prospective students that are critical to SPA’s graduate enrollment strategy.
Support and manage the development, implementation, and execution of relevant recruitment initiatives, campaigns, activities, reporting, and communication plans specifically designed for designated pipelines and audiences.
Conduct regular in-person and online information sessions with prospective students associated with designated constituencies.
Primary constituencies continue to evolve and currently include Combined Program (BA/MA and BA/MS), Double Eagle, Ph.D, Peace Corps/Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, and Key MPA as well as graduate certificate prospective students.
2.) Graduate Application Management and Admission
Serve as primary support for application process and applicant tracking for SPA’s Ph.D. programs and concurrent master’s applicants including general triage, communications with applicants and Faculty Coordinators, supplemental item compilation, transcript evaluation submission (as relevant), student and data entry in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, as well as pertinent, tracking spreadsheets.
Support the application process for other assigned constituencies including Combined Program (BA/MA and BA/MS), Key MPA and associated graduate certificates, Washington Semester Program (WSP), and additional programs as needed.
3.) Graduate Recruitment Events and Program Support
Organize and execute Combined Program callout sessions, support, and participate in SPA major recruitment events and initiatives, including those associated with the Key MPA and/or Coverdell Fellows program.
Manage SPA’s Coverdell Fellows program and support Fellows in securing volunteer opportunities concurrent to their academic and professional responsibilities and track volunteer hours for reporting purposes.
Triage Fellows’ questions/concerns and maintain a collaborative relationship among the other AU campus Coverdell Fellows programs for the purpose of sharing best practices and organizing Fellows activities.
Monitor and update constituency-related web-based information and collateral as well as manage the compilation, submission and/or release of associated reporting.
For the Washington Semester Program (WSP), supports the pipeline of prospective students with communication, evaluations, and application materials.
The Coordinator reviews applications using the CRM to ensure that all applications materials have been received, minimum GPA is met, and proper approvals from home institutions are received.
Helps identify problems with applicants and communicates to WSP staff for triage and resolution.
4.) Merit Aid Support
Support SPA’s merit aid allocation process by releasing assigned award letters, auditing course enrollments, supporting the Summer merit aid process, processing decision paperwork, and planning/executing communication campaigns to solicit timely admission and merit aid decisions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-Time.
35 hours per week.
Non-Exempt.
Hybrid schedule with three days on-campus required.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Salary Range:
$26.47-$30.22 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
2-4 years of relevant experience.

Master's degree preferred.
