Summary:
Professor Doga Eralp seeks a short-term research assistant (RA) for spring semester 2025 to assist with article research. Under ongoing and detailed guidance and supervision, the role of the research assistant would complete the following items below.
Responsibilities
- Collect and organize documents, videos, radio programs, speeches, social media posts, organizational reports, and newspaper articles.
- Analyze data and summarize results.
- Fact check information collected.
- Generate graphs to present data.
- Document the research process.
- Code data.
- Offer preliminary analysis of data.
- Identify interview subjects and create a database with their contact information.
- Translate documents.
- Meet with Professor Eralp regularly to discuss research and goals.
- Part-Time.
- Non-Exempt.
- 6 Hours per week
- $17.75 per hour.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent research and analytical skills in the social sciences.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Keen attention to details.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently under guidance.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to listen to instructions.
- Prior experience in research.
- This position is available only to enrolled American University students.
