Primary Role
Responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of our wastewater facilities ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company requirements while optimizing efficiency and developing staff effectiveness. This role play requires a deep understanding of wastewater treatment systems and operations and will play a key role in all growth activities involving wastewater systems.
Key Accountabilities
Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
Experience/Education
Valid wastewater operator certification as required by state regulations.
Work Environment
40-50% travel within the state, mostly day travel.

Primary Role
Responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of our wastewater facilities ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company requirements while optimizing efficiency and developing staff effectiveness. This role play requires a deep understanding of wastewater treatment systems and operations and will play a key role in all growth activities involving wastewater systems.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the daily operations of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations within established budget guidelines.
- Implement and foster the coaching and development of employees, including idea generation, within respective functional areas.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and safety protocols aligned to the company and regulatory standards ensuring that operational integrity (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety and security is maintained.
- Develop and direct cost-effective solutions to meet customers’ expectations and technical requirements and to encourage best practice and innovation throughout all operational areas.
- Work with engineering to identify capital priorities and manage capital projects.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal controls to ensure timely reporting and compliance.
- Lead due diligence and integration activities related to the acquisition of new wastewater systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff, ensuring completion of all company-required training.
- Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Lead development of and training for all emergency response plans for wastewater facilities.
- Contribute to effective communication by listening and providing constructive feedback; supporting the creation of an open and honest work environment; cascading and sharing knowledge and information relevant to other members of the team and colleagues across the business.
Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in operational discipline, management or related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years managing operational areas and meeting performance targets; with at least 5 years’ experience in wastewater treatment.
Valid wastewater operator certification as required by state regulations.
Work Environment
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to wastewater and chemicals.
- Ability to stand, walk and climb as required.
