What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floorhand position at American Well Services?
Floorhands will assit with set up and take down of equipment on the drilling rig. In this role, the job duties include gathering, handling, and sorting tools, pipes, and other materials that aid in the rig’s operations.
- Assists in removing or installing well head and associated equipment
- Lifts, attaches, installs, and works with matting boards, tubing, rods, casing and associated well equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods and pumps
- Operates rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other associated rig tools and equipment during well servicing operations.
- Assists with spooling or unspooling guy lines, placing and operating hydraulic jacks, and placing of emergency and safety gear.
- Responsible for maintenance of tubing, rod tongs and hand tools on the rig.
- Follows and supports all AWS HSE policies at all times.
- Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times.
- Drives company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads including paved and gravel surfaces, and off road situations including two track roads.
- Washes and maintains vehicles according to company standards
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Good communication skills
- Able to multi-task in fast paced environment

- Basic problem solving and organizational skills
- A minimum of six (6) months experience working rotational shift work, working in inclement weather, and/or manual labor experience preferred
- Receipt of proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law

- Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
