2nd Shift Production Operator - Packaging

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 2nd Shift Production Operator - Packaging role in our Circleville, OH facility.

JOB SUMMARY

Works in a safe and efficient manner to maximize production, packaging, and shipping of various packaged goods.

I. PRODUCTION:

• Operate packaging equipment in a safe efficient manner preparing packaged materials for AWF customers. Must be able to climb ladders and work on elevated work platforms.
• Operate forklift trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for making sure trucks are loaded and unloaded in an orderly sequence with an emphasis on eliminating equipment and product damage. Responsible for accurate record keeping in moving material into and out of inventory and paperwork for shipping.
• Prepare packaged flour as per the SOP. Utilizing the equipment as intended and operating it in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with keeping plant organized and clean every day. Work station cleanup is required daily and during production runs if needed.

II. QUALITY:

• Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel, and customers. Assist in the implementation of new procedures as needed.

III. SAFETY:

• Operates equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Utilizes all of the required PPE as required by the task being performed. THIS IS A HIGH DUST environment and the equipment must be properly maintained while in operation.
• Reports any accident, injury, damages to Supervisor immediately.
• Helps keep others safe in the work place by looking out for them and participating in safety related improvements.
• Follow the safety protocols for the use of mobile equipment.
• Completes accurate shift production reports, in moving material into and out of the raw room.

IV. OTHER ACTIVITIES;

• Available to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime (includes Sunday). Establishes personal growth and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork.

V. Discretionary Profit Bonus Goals.

• Each month 30% of the profit bonus is discretionary based on achieving set goals.

Safety- (10%)

• No accidents, injuries, violations, or at fault damage incidents

Attendance (10%)

• No unexcused absences, no more than 2 unexcused tardiness and early outs.

Performance- (10%)

• No occurrences of unacceptable levels of productivity
• No failures to properly perform job duties
• No work rule violations of serious nature
• No disciplinary actions

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 Year experience in a manufacturing facility
• Pellet mill experience is a plus
• Must be detail-oriented

$15.50 per hour
