3rd Shift Production Operator (Packaging) - Circleville, OH
American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 3rd Shift Production Operator (Packaging) role in our Circleville, OH facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Operator (Packaging) is responsible for operating a variety of mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner to maximize production, packaging and shipping of various packaged goods.
I. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates FFS packaging equipment and various mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner unloading various raw material trailers and providing raw materials to the operational systems.
- Operate forklift trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for making sure trucks are loaded and unloaded in an orderly sequence with an emphasis on eliminating equipment and product damage.
- responsible for accurate record keeping in moving material into and out of inventory and paperwork for shipping.
- Maintain mobile equipment as per the SOP (including blowdowns and routine service).
- Responsible for accurate record keeping in moving material into and out of the raw room.
- Prepare packaged flour as per the SOP. Utilizing the equipment as intended and operating it in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with keeping plant organized and clean on a daily basis. Workstation and equipment cleanup are required daily and during production runs if needed.
II. QUALITY
- Maintains and verified that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel and customers.
- Assist in implementation of new procedures as needed.
III. SAFETY
- Operates equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Utilizes all of the required PPE for the task being performed.
- THIS IS A HIGH DUST environment and the equipment must be properly maintained while in operation.
- Help to keep others safe in the work place by looking out for them and participating in safety related improvements.
- Follow the safety protocols for the use of mobile equipment.
- Completes accurate shift production reports.
IV. OTHER ACTIVITIES
- Availability to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime (including Sunday).
- Establishes personal growth and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork.
V. DISCRETIONARY PROFIT BONUS GOALS.
Each month 30% of the profit bonus is discretionary based on achieving set goals.

No unexcused absences, no more than 2 unexcused tardiness and early outs.
- Performance (10%)
No occurrences of unacceptable levels of productivity
No failures to properly perform job duties

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
- Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred
- Valid and current CDL (Required)
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work in extreme weather
- Ability to wear PPE gear correctly
- Ability to lift 25/50/80lbs regularly
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
EXPERIENCE
Forklift experience
Heavy Equipment Operation: 1 Year (Preferred)

$16.15 per hour
