2nd Shift Production Operator - Packaging

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450 employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking candidates for the 2nd Shift Production Operator - Packaging roles in our Schofield, WI facility.

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Operator – Packaging is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize production and shipping of products and raw material.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• PRODUCTION
• Operate a machine, utilizing good hand-eye coordination and working at a fast pace to accomplish hourly rates
• Maintain work station by sweeping and shoveling excess material around packaging equipment and warehouse during the end of the shift cleanup
• As required, perform outside duties including sweeping and picking up debris
• SAFETY
• Exercise caution in the production area due to mobile equipment moving the finished product out of the production area
• Attend monthly safety meetings
• Attend safety trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient results

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
• Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred
• Candidate MUST be able to pass a background check
• Candidate MUST be able to pass a drug screen

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work in varying temperatures within the production area (can range from 55-100 degrees, depending on the time of year)
• Stand/walk approximately for 8 hours daily on a concrete floor
• Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas
• Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
• Candidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environment

EXPERIENCE

Industrial Machine Operating: 1 Year (Preferred)

COMPENSATION

Starting: $19.00 per hour

SCHEDULE

• 8-hour shift (Sunday - Thursday; 2:30pm - 11:00pm)
• 2nd Shift
• Overtime-eligible
