The Department of Public Works (DPW) supports the health, environment, and economy of Baltimore City and the region by providing customers with safe drinking water and keeping communities and waterways clean. DPW strives to be a strong proponent and protector of the environment and the health and vitality of the City. DPW's AmeriCorps VISTA program DPW's AmeriCorps VISTA program aims to educate and empower Baltimore City residents to engage in safe and healthy practices and environmental stewardship that supports a sustainable city. Its year-long program focuses on waste reduction, water preservation, community engagement, volunteerism, education and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for all residents and communities.
Member Duties : VISTA members will: 1. Conduct research using focus groups, surveys, meetings to collect data to support making informed recommendations for grant writing, reporting and future planning. 2. Create marketing strategies to engage diverse stakeholder groups in environmental stewardship. 3. Collaborate with bureaus and offices to design monitoring tools that will help assess current educational and volunteerism program and initiatives. 4. Support writing efforts for grants, curriculum, training modules and reporting
