What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Shield Programming Coordinator VISTA (Year 2) position at AmeriCorps?
Camp Shield’s mission is collaborating to empower Women Veterans – emotionally, socially and physically – to ensure SHE thrives After Military Service. Our vision is to reduce the risk of Woman Veteran homelessness and suicide by providing a secure and comfortable healing environment for the Veteran and their children to heal and grow. To achieve this vision, Camp Shield provides a series of SHE THRIVES workshops, mastermind book clubs, peer-to-peer support groups, retreats, financial assistance and resource referral services. This will include a transitional housing program in the future.
Member Duties : The Programming VISTA will build Camp SHiEld's capacity by improving program efficiency, effectiveness, engagement, communication, and sustainability through intentional support of programming, event coordination, and strategic outreach via social media and newsletters. The 3 main objectives of this role: 1. To develop and implement a year of hybrid and in-person events, 2. To establish and strengthen community presence by building relationships with individuals and organizations that understand and support Women Veterans, 3. To support effective communication and outreach for programming and events through social media, newsletters, and digital content that reflect the organization's mission and values.
