FLP afterschool program’s vision is “to equip youth to excel and reach their maximum potential socially and emotionally. FLP afterschool program teaches life skills and social emotional development that will foster youth to successfully enter adulthood. Our program is designed using evidence-based principles that promote healthy self-esteem, positive social skills, and effective life skills. FLP afterschool program seeks the following outcomes: • Positive Self-Image of Youth• Life skills training, Emotional development • Healthy social development. FLP afterschool program offers daily access to a range of programs in three impact areas: Life Skills, Specialized programming, and Social and Emotional Development. Member Duties : Members will serve as mentors with at-risk students, conducting regular check-ins; developing a rapport with youth, offering guidance, providing basic homework help, foster social and emotional development, and promote life skills. Members will participate in the following interventions: Develop a trusting relationship with youth, stabilizing youth in crisis and setting goals; increase resiliency of youth, delivering social and emotional development interventions. Members will also help foster life skills.
