About the Position

This Manager of Repair& Warranty is responsible for the operational and financial execution of all aircraft repair, material planning, warranty and scrap functions, including development of department objectives, leading, developing and managing repair / warranty staff to support the cost, quality, technology, and material flow objectives goals in support of the Company's goals and objectives. The Repair / Warranty Areas of responsibility include among others Repair Vendor Management, Material Planning, and Financial Control, Base Support Functions, and Sub-Contracts Support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for on-time delivery, optimal cost and quality of all repair / warranty inventory.
  • Maintains appropriate cost-effective material and repair control systems to support all material requirements, release and tracking.
  • Responsible for planning repair vendors and / or services required by the organization.
  • Responsible for leading strategically critical projects that bring exceptional value to the company through total cost reduction, key repair vendor relationships, vendor consolidation, cost / benefit financial analysis, vendor quality management, and vendor certification and communication.
  • Developing initiatives with operations for cost and lead time reduction for key vendors where a benefit exists.
  • Managing and facilitating repair / warranty activity to meet schedule requirements; generates and expedite repair / warranty orders for rotables / repairable inventory.
  • Developing, managing and facilitating the supplier evaluation program (scorecards) and metrics / reports on costs, on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness to ensure suppliers are meeting company goals.
  • Meet with the Operation Group Leaders to validate the repair schedules, status open repair orders, pending DERs and establish priorities.
  • Responsible for training and ensuring repair / warranty staff is equipped with the knowledge and skills to successfully fulfill the Supply Chain objectives and initiatives.
  • Other tasks as requested.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of aviation supply chain systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation repair / warranty and teardown interpretations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong working knowledge of Finances and the impact of repair decisions on the overall Company's objectives.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing long term agreements and sub-contract agreements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work with people in all departments.
  • Proven strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic working relationships.
  • Understanding of government regulations that impact the strategic and tactical operations of the Aviation purchasing / supplier management organization.
  • Aerospace, Aviation, and / or Defense industry experience required.
  • Competence in negotiating with aviation MROs
  • Education and Experience Requirements :
  • Experience in Aviation Operations, Aviation Supply Chain Management or Aviation technical discipline is required.
  • An emphasis in supply chain / business / quantitative analysis preferred.
  • Professional certification, CPM or APICS is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Aviation experience 10 years of successful MRO, Supply Chain, and Aviation Warehouse Operations experience required.
  • Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must meet airport badging requirements, including a TSA Security background check
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and meet all company insurance criteria
