What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Safety Environment Intern position at AMERILAB TECHNOLOGIES, INC?
HBI Amerilab Technologies is a growing and leading US manufacturer in the development, manufacturing, and packaging of effervescent tablets, and effervescent and non-effervescent powders in stick packs and sachets, and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HSE Intern to join our team.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, core business hours. 12 weeks for Summer 2025 only.
This role will gain exposure to general health, safety, and environmental programs such as industrial hygiene, hazard communication, Work Permit/LOTO, ergonomics, and waste management. Additionally, the HSE Intern will be involved in risk assessments, incident investigation and root cause analysis, hazard identification, employee training, safety inspections, and audit as part of an overall HSE management system.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement, and/or evaluate of HSE policies, procedures, and training.
- Support efforts to ensure and track that all key HSE operational controls are in place (checklists, periodic area revisions, HSE daily routines).
- Conduct and support risk assessments to identify critical HSE hazards and aspects.
- Conduct waste stream mapping across our locations including hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Supports the tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators.
- Works directly with HSE Manager, Operations teams, and other support functions as a safety resource providing safety program updates, updates on job hazard analysis, and process documents.
- Assist with executing plans to deliver sustainability commitments, goals, targets, and objectives.
- The HSE Intern will participate on our Safety Committee by attending meetings, providing input, and making recommendations.

- Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
- Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
- Support safety policies and programs.
