Job Summary
The VP, Loan Operations is a key contributor to business growth while maintaining credit and risk integrity as governed by compliance standards. This role requires extensive experience in client relationship management in regards to high-net-worth clients and internal and external stakeholders as well as a strong background in new business credit underwriting and loan renewal management. This role will focus on evaluating and processing new and existing loan applications while collaborating closely with loan officers, credit analysts, and confidential high-net-worth clients. The goal is to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards, fostering professional relationships that build trust and rapport. The ideal candidate will have 7 years of experience leading a loan operations team with a focus on credit underwriting, and managing loan renewals, preferably with high-net-worth clients.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
- New Business Management :
o Assist all stakeholders to ensure the proposed loan strategy matches the client's goals.
o Assess potential borrowers' ability to qualify for the loan by analyzing client provided legal documents, financial statements, and other relevant documentation.
o Collaborate with loan officers to prepare and present credit applications to lenders for credit approval. Negotiate with lenders for exceptions or modifications to standard loan designs to customize the loan to fit the client's needs.
o Ensure all loan applications meet underwriting policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk management standards.
o Lead the process of reviewing and renewing loans, working with advisors, clients and internal teams to gather necessary documentation and evaluate policy and loan performance.
o Provide updated policy or loan options when clients' needs change.
o Update and maintain accurate renewal records and communicate renewal terms and conditions to clients.
o Ensure all renewals are completed promptly and in compliance with company policies.
o Establish loan underwriting procedures, working closely with each lender for a process that meets their specific requirements.
o Review lender generated loan documentation, ensuring it matches the clients design goals and coordinates with the insurance carriers premium financing rules.
o Maintain a training program for Loan Officers and Analyst to keep them up to date on changes to lender procedures or insurance carrier premium financing rules.
o Serve as the primary point of contact for advisors and clients regarding loan status, documentation requirements, and timelines.
o Liaise with other departments, such as loan servicing, credit, and compliance, to resolve issues and streamline processes.
o Provide exceptional service throughout the lending process, addressing questions or concerns from clients promptly and professionally.
o Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of lending solutions.
o Attends client meetings, acts as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders involved for both new and existing loans.
o Works on special projects as needed for the life insurance premium finance team.
