Quality Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The quality technician will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.

To ensure success as a quality technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ultimately, a top-class quality technician can efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspecting products according to quality and safety standards.
• First article inspections (PPAP).
• Ensured production is not hindered by quality testing.
• Ensuring products comply with company standards and customer specifications.
• Reporting quality issues to their Manager and the Department Supervisor.
• Collating test data and drafting quality reports, as needed.
• Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
• Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing.
• Verify received materials to specifications and their approvals.
• Final product approvals.
• Corrective Action Support.
• Continuous Improvement activities including, lean, root cause, risk analysis and corrective actions.
• Production support for new product and product changes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of two (2) years quality experience working with company specification requirements, quality standards and verification activities in a manufacturing setting
• Ability to efficiently type and use PC applications for document maintenance (MS Word, Power Point, PDF) including data management and processing (MS Excel).
• Proficiency with tape measure, micrometer and calipers
• Ability to analyze and organize quality data and documentation.
• High-level of visual awareness
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
