About the Role - The Sales Director will oversee all sales activities related to catering and events, developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve revenue targets. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in sales within the hospitality industry, capable of building and maintaining client relationships, and effectively managing a sales team.
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive sales efforts, including outside sales calls, networking, and attending industry events.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other potential customers. Conduct site visits and presentations to showcase the company's offerings. Negotiate contracts and ensure client satisfaction throughout the event planning process.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and collective targets. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance. Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Event Coordination Collaboration: Work closely with the event planning and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events. Communicate client requirements effectively to internal departments. Oversee the creation and distribution of detailed event orders and contracts.
- Financial Management: Prepare and manage the sales department budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility. Monitor financial performance, including revenue generation and expense control. Provide regular reports and forecasts to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the hospitality, events, or catering industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
