Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Tech I maintains school buildings and buildings’ grounds in orderly, neat, safe, and operable condition. To set the example in the quality of work performed, demonstrating a positive attitude, loyalty, cooperation, teamwork, attendance, and safety.
Work Schedule: 40 hours, 255-day contract

Work Schedule: 40 hours, 255-day contract
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Performs tasks to maintain and improve buildings and grounds in a safe and operable condition.
- Performs mowing, weed-eating, spraying, aerating, seeding, painting, and snow removal. Will be trained to use equipment.
- Obtains equipment, tools and materials required for completion of assigned work. Will be trained to use equipment.
- Troubleshoots and solves problems in an efficient and timely manner.
- Prepares and maintains records to document work and repairs as requested.
- Custodial substitute as needed.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- General computer skills (email, data entry, etc.)
- Class A CDL License required or ability to obtain within 90 days (pending testing site availability).
- Spraying License required or ability to obtain within 90 days (pending testing site availability) - Turf (3T) and Right-of-way (6) pest control.
- Pre-employment and random drug screens required.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Experience in grounds maintenance, building maintenance or construction.
- Ability to safely operate grounds equipment i.e. mowers, weed eaters, tractors, loaders, etc.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. through the shift.
- Frequent lifting, bending, carrying, moving heavy objects, such as furniture.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Requires physical endurance to complete snow removal duties.
- Ability to understand to make oneself understood in English.
- Training interactions will be in English, all other duties are completed independently after instruction.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Consistent and punctual attendance.
Compensation: $17.03 per hour
