The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Electronic Engineering Technician (EMI-EMC)-Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The salary range of this position is $58,000.00 - $85,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as an Electronic Engineering Technician (EMI-EMC)-Journeyman may include:

• Verifies compliance of our products and systems with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standards
• Conducts EMI/EMC testing on aerospace systems and components
• Utilizes a range of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators and oscilloscopes
• Preforms pre-test inspections
• Collaborates with Engineers to identify/troubleshoot issues and generate comprehensive test plans, procedures and reports in adherence to industry standards

Must-haves:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Technical School/Military training in Electronic Technology, Degree in an Electronic Technology or Degree in relevant field
• Previous experience working around aircraft and avionics
• Strong understanding of electrical principles
• Basic understanding of EMI/EMC principals
• Previous experience using electronic test equipment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

• AA Degree
• Demonstrated track record in EMI/EMC testing within an aerospace or test and evaluation context
• Experience operating and troubleshooting EMI/EMC test equipment
• Certification in EMI/EMC testing
• Working knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) principles
• Familiarity with software tools used in EMI/EMC testing

Candidates must have a customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion, and have the ability to work effectively with both management, and as part of a team, to meet project targets.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work around aircraft in the field for a majority of their day, on site versus in an office. The physical environment also requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for part of the day. In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

The employee will be required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs. and/or operating machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects, such as forklifts and dollies.  This position may also require driving government vehicles.
