The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Engineering Technician (RF)- Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The salary range of this position is $65,000.00 -$95,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as an Engineering Technician (RF)-Journeyman may include:

• Interfaces with program contractors, vendors and government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering projects, test scheduling/planning and conduct
• Researches and assists with designs and integrates high power transmitter systems
• Operates and maintains high voltage equipment used to preform RF testing
• Plans and conducts RF testing, data collection, processing and analysis
• Identifies system malfunctions
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment

Must-haves:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Technical School or Military training in electronics troubleshooting, testing and repair
• 3 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment
• Experience with RF systems including but not limited to radars and magnetrons
• A willingness to work both indoors and outdoors
• Knowledge and experience using electronic test equipment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (MS Word/Outlook/Excel/Access/PowerPoint)
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

• Experience using high power systems
• Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing
• Experience working with military aircrafts

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in the field for a majority of their day, on site versus in an office. The physical environment also requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for part of the day.  In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

Employee will be required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs. and/or operating machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects, such as forklifts and dollies.  This position may also require driving government vehicles.
