As a Line of Business Compliance Officer (LOBCO), this role is responsible for providing second line of defense monitoring and oversight of the U.S. Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization, specifically related to sales and marketing risks and initiatives. This person will provide strategic compliance expertise to drive innovation for the business while aligning with applicable laws and regulations for GMNS products, features, processes, and relationships. The compliance efforts for this position will focus on supporting marketing strategies, risk management initiatives, GMNScommunications and sales practices. Areas of responsibility will include assessment of compliance risk associated with marketing campaigns, review of marketing claims, disclosures, servicing communications, and related content.
Responsibilities :
- Providing solution-oriented compliance guidance to assist business colleagues in reaching their sales and marketing goals while meeting compliance requirements.
- Driving compliance with applicable internal policy and regulatory requirements in the areas of Consumer Protection (UDAP, UDAAP, Complaint Management, Reg E), servicing communications, sales practices, and other relevant federal, state and local regulations.
- Review and provide guidance to the business on marketing and advertising campaigns, content and required disclosures.
- Advise leaders on areas of emerging marketing, sales, and servicing risk and approaches to improve controls and practices as appropriate.
- Review partnerships to ensure compliance in delivering required marketing objectives.
- Support the U.S. Compliance Risk Assessment process (e.g., legal mandate / requirement applicability assessment, control validation, action item monitoring) across multiple Process Risk Self-Assessments (PRSAs).
- Manage the U.S. Issue Management Compliance-related activities (e.g., evaluate risk events to determine Compliance impact, monitor GMS milestone progress and tracking for closure of gaps and remediation).
- Liaise as required with relevant stakeholders including but not limited to : Internal Audit, External Regulators, Independent Compliance Testing, General Counsel, Control Management, Global Financial Crimes Compliance, and Privacy.
- Execute multiple projects, act independently and be involved in Compliance-related decision-making during interactions with GMS colleagues.
