Job Description :
The Purchasing Manager will be hands-on and responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership of the purchasing team while also executing buying responsibilities. Working with internal business partners in the manufacturing, sales, project management, quality, and engineering community, the overall objective is the purchase of components, materials, OEM items as well as Non-Standard items according to the needs of the company, actively controlling costs and vendor performance while controlling inventory levels. Candidates should possess exceptional leadership and communication skills and should be able to sort through complex issues and be able to create a path to solution.
Job Duties Include :
- Ensure the supply base is adequate to provide the necessary materials and equipment for the company to be successful.
- Lead a group of Buyers and have experience driving positive results through internal and external partnerships.
- Collaborate with any other AMF-owned companies to ensure maximum leverage is gained in procurement and inventory opportunities.
- Ensure inventory levels are established and maintained at the levels determined by the Product Groups
- Collaborate across departmental lines to promote design standardization to ensure cost containment.
- Participate in management events as required.
- Understand and enforce company policies and lead by example.
Requirements :
Prefer candidate have experience with A3 / DMAIC / PDCA in practice and the ability to articulate successful implementations of the tools.
Prefer a strong background in ERP / MRP concepts and configurations to support operational goals.
