SUMMARY
In manager's absence or at his / her direction leads and coordinates activities of packaging workers in mixing, lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of conveyors, cranes, hoists, or industrial trucks, in cleaning and maintenance of process and equipment. Assists maintenance and packaging team in or conducts repairing and maintaining of machinery and equipment per established TPM procedures. Conducts preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery and tools. Engages in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment. All by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Bolts or clamps screen of specified mesh to frame.
Pours or shovels specified quantities of material into hoppers or onto feed conveyor of machine.
Positions takeoff conveyor, bins, or drums under screens to receive sifted material.
Tends machine that segregates particles of dry materials such as sand, powdered minerals, feed, resins, and chemicals, into batches of uniform size by sifting through one or more oscillating screens.
Throws switch to activate takeoff conveyor or removes full containers manually or using hoist or truck.
Measures or weighs and maintains records of material sifted or packaged.
Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
Conducts packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications.
Requisitions containers and other supplies for delivery to work stations.
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and performs setup and adjustments of machines.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and safety of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team in solving work problems. Maintains time and production records.
Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials required to meet production goals.
Confers with other team members and manufacturing team to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to team leader or maintenance personnel.
Requests movement of raw materials and finished products, supporting material handling activities.
Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders.
Prepares chemical materials for use in processing, following standardized formulas or procedures.
Weighs out quantities of powdered chemicals, following formula sheets, procedures or standards.
Dismantles machines or equipment per TPM procedures, replacing defective parts and motors, and adjusting feed mechanisms.
Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings. Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion. Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
Visually inspects and listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with team leader or maintenance team to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Examines form and texture of work in process to detect imperfections. Reviews master production schedule and work orders.
Confers with team members to determine progress of work and to review information on changes in processing methods received from technical department.
Prepares employee evaluations and monitors progression of new hires to the point of efficiency.
Reports progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production team of delays.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan and meet customer demands.
Schedules incoming trucks and containers for delivery.
Reviews all Sales Orders and schedules transportation needs.
Conducts all inventory counts needed for materials.
Prepares all Haz- Mat Shipping Documents as needed.
Assigns Ship-Rec Team Members daily tasks.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to work some overtime.
Must be able to travel 5% of time, including domestic and / or international air travel.
