About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Animal Care Specialist to join our team at Amherst College. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of laboratory animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care and maintenance of laboratory animals, including vertebrates and invertebrates
- Develop and implement animal care protocols and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and research data
- Collaborate with researchers and faculty members to support their research needs
This is a full-time position that requires a high level of expertise in animal care and handling. AALAS certification is preferred, but not required.
